The thermocouple attachment unit enables the operator to attach the thermocouple and fine wires to the test piece for precision temperature measurements. The unit is very safe to operate as the maximum voltage between the earth return magnet and the application pliers is at safe volts.

The unit uses the capacitance discharge method for the attachment of a thermocouple wire (single & couple) to a workpiece, to allow temperature recording and control instruments to accurately read the temperature of the workpiece being heat treated.  Capacitor can be charged to different voltages to get different values of weld current
